Do I need an architect for an extension?

Alexander Hills Architects designs extensions across London Fields, Hackney and Greater London.

Do I need an architect for a barn conversion in Norfolk?

Barn conversions are design- and planning-sensitive, often rural and sometimes listed or in a conservation area, so an experienced architect is strongly advised. Alexander Hills Architects carries out barn conversions across Norfolk and East Anglia.

What does a conservation architect do?

A conservation architect designs sympathetic alterations to historic, listed or conservation-area buildings and handles the specialist consents required. Alexander Hills Architects works as a conservation architect in London and Norfolk.

Do I need planning permission for an extension?

Many extensions fall under permitted development, but size limits apply and those rights are restricted in conservation areas and on listed buildings. We confirm what applies to your property at the feasibility stage.
